It's 2023! We can finally put the covid years behind us! Gone are the days, weeks, months, and years of isolation, sweatpants, and Netflix while we work remote, hopefully! We can go back out into the world and be seen. This makes an exciting year for fashion! With this new excitement to be seen, comes lots of bold colors, prints, and silhouettes.
If you are like me, you came out of isolation and realized that skinny jeans are out and everything 90's is in. I already lived through the 90's so I'm not exactly excited about the crop tops and mom jeans like my preteen daughter is, but I still want to look on trend, and age appropriate. There is a happy balance!
I prefer to wear my mom jeans with longer shirts that cover my butt and look for bold prints, like Aztec and floral prints that add a 90's flare. I also look for oversized pullovers and hoodies to pair with my mom jeans. My absolute favorite look right now is a plaid button-down shirt paired with high waisted jeans. It's simple, comfortable, and on trend without trying too hard.
Skinny jeans are still in, but look for a lighter wash, and distressed look. I also like pairing my jeans with high-top sneakers, instead of the boots that were so popular pre-covid.
To stay on trend is one thing, but keeping your own flare is the most important thing! Take the things you love and disregard the things you don't is my advice!
